About & Vision

Path to Dignity — our story, our mission, and where we are going.

Who we are

Path to Dignity is a community initiative that brings our community together in thought, conversation and action across the Netherlands.

We organise gatherings, workshops and conversations that help our community reclaim dignity, peace and real power — grounded in our shared values of compassion, justice and dignity, entrusted to us for all of humanity.

Our Vision

The genocide in Gaza forced us to confront an unbearable truth: we could not prevent the live-streamed slaughter of our brothers and sisters. We are in a state of paralysis and powerlessness. This condition does not befit us.

At the same time, the ongoing genocide in East Turkestan has been unfolding for over a decade — with concentration camps, forced labour, sterilisation and the attempt to erase an entire Muslim people. Yet even there, with all the evidence exposed, we have been unable to stop it. Gaza and East Turkestan are not separate tragedies; together they reveal how deeply the Ummah has lost its ability to protect its own.

We are the Ummah of compassion, justice and dignity — values entrusted to us for all of humanity, Muslim and non-Muslim. Carrying that responsibility demands strength, unity and clarity. Today, we do not possess them.

So the central question becomes: how do we lead our community out of this condition? How do we reclaim dignity, peace and real power?

The work ahead

From here, we will travel, speak to people and study communities — Muslim and non-Muslim — to uncover practical models for resilience, autonomous community-building, self-reliance and resistance. Our findings will be documented through podcasts, interviews, reportages and films.

Our events

Through a series of gatherings featuring renowned speakers and thought leaders, we aim to challenge rigid patterns, foster critical thinking, and inspire action. Each event grounds our mission in reality, reminding us that meaningful change begins with informed, united communities.
